Have a good look at the building nearby. It won an award for achetutural excellence when it was built in 1960.
Named after the first Scarborough mayor, the location has often been mistaken. It is not in north Scarborough with the school and the park that also bear his name.
The gardens in front of the building are maintained by community youth and have one city recognition in the past. It is often used for reading or just hanging out.
Once again, time your visit carefully for this can be a very busy place at certain times of the day. I've worked here in the past and still have friends inside - they may be watching for you.
