Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on a bridge over the railway lines.

We waved at two trains here and the drivers both waved and hooted at us.... Much to the delight of the Geokids!

The footpath is very well used by dogs so please be wary of where you put your feet!

I can only describe the cache as a large test tube, camouflaged, with a screw-top lid.

it has been placed here on the day of Wellington Carnival which has been a tradition in the town since 1887

more info about the carnival can be found here: http://www.wellingtoncarnival.org.uk/history.html

The ever growing Cades Farm development almost stretches this far, yet on the other side of the tracks the green and pleasant fields will lead you on a lovely walk, out to Nynehead, if you so wish.

Many, many of us that have lived or grown up in Wellington remember this bridge as a gateway to long days of freedom in the countryside so close to home.

Have you noticed the circular sign, on the railway with a W?

No prizes for knowing what it stands for!
