This is a replacement geocache for "Owen Creek Cache, Redux" (GC3PGR8) that recently fell victim to "the geocache thief", that was a replacement for masterpuzzler's geocache, GCNKHA, that also fell victim to "the geocache thief" sometime in July, 2011. This cache is located along Rattlesnake Ridge, just south of Interstate 90 near North Bend, Washington. I'm publishing this new one to encourage previous finders to take another hike on Rattlesnake Ridge.
From the original description: This cache is near Owen Creek, along the Rattlesnake Mountain Trail (RMT) between Rattlesnake Lake and Snoqualmie Point. There are several cache opportunities along this trail. I highly recommend dropping a second vehicle at either end (or arranging a drop-off) to make the 11+ mile traverse of the entire mountain/ridge.
The Snoqualmie Point Ridge trailhead starts at N47 30.635, W121 50.643. From this point it was approximately 3.65 miles as recorded on my trip-meter to this cache, with an elevation gain of approximately 1400 feet.
From the trail, there’s a side path up to the cache overlooking the bridge across Owen Creek.
If you decide to begin at the Rattlesnake Lake end of the trail…parking is free if you don’t go clear into the State Park.
The container is a medium lock-n-lock.
