Garnes Traditional Cache

Fra parkeringen er det ca. 1km fram til målet. Det står en gapahuk ved målet der det er fint å ta en pause. Garnesveien går helt fram til Steira, og den er godt vedlikeholdt.

From the parking lot is approximately 1km to the goal. It's a lean at the destination where it is nice to take a break. Garnes road runs until Steira and is well maintained

Garnes var en liten bygd med første kjente bosetting fra 1610. Folketallet var på topp i1920 årene, det var også i disse årene at Garnesveien ble bygget. Bygda ble fraflyttet på 1950 tallet. I dag står kun husmurene igjen.

Garnes was a small place with the first known settlement from the 1610, population was in the top in 1920, it was also during these years that Garnes road was built. The village was abandoned in the 1950s. Today only the ruins are left.
