The location of this cache is in a valley that runs off of the Alkham Valley Road on a lane that takes you to the town of Hawkinge.
It is another 'lovely spot' in this beautiful countryside.
The name of the cache comes from the shape of the road - it looks like a starting handle! A friend of mine who has lived on this lane all his life always refers to these corners as the Grindstone Handle and it's certainly a great description.
This is also a perfect spot to observe the many Buzzards that frequent this valley.
This is a perfect cache and dash however it is on a single track lane which is used most frequently as a 'rat run' at the commuting times of the day. Additionally please be aware of horses on the lane. If you approach from the Hawkinge end please be mindful of a blind bend and take care. There are a couple of passing places near the cache site so the cache can be accessed safely.
You are looking for something slightly smaller than a film pot.
