This property was acquired by White Clay Creek Preserve in 2010 from George Strawbridge Jr. It is has been refered to as "Strawbridge's" by locals, now is Big Elk Creek Section of WCCP.
This is a hike in part of this preserve. It has open fields, unmarked trails, old fences, small stream crossings, hills and woods. There is wildlife, mosquitoes, and posion ivy. You are outdoors, so be smart and prepare accordingly. This is a legal public hunting area. Which is from September to January, those worried about that, Sunday is a good day to search these caches. Of course wearing bright color clothing (fluorescent orange or yellow, neon blue works well too) is a plus. Being a hunter myself, midday is usually good time to search too. So please respect the hunters by moving quietly during the season. The caches are in field edges and near trails, crossing the old Augustine Lane should be the only bushwacking that you may need to do. Please be respectful of bordering private property too. So give yourself some time, take a bottle of water and camera, and enjoy this "new" area.
