Saturday, Oct 11th at 11am in Girdwood!
Join us for an hour or two well-spent on a doubtlessly-lovely fall day along our official 2-mile section of the Seward Highway in Girdwood. GeocacheAlaska! cleans this section of highway at least 3 times per year under the Alaska DOT Adopt-A-Highway program.
Meet at the highway pullout at 11am to sign in, register for door prizes, and get a safety briefing. We will spend about an hour picking up any and all trash along the highway, meeting again at about 3pm to consolidate the trash for a photo-op and then draw for door prizes (must be present to win).
This CITO site requires that we have a tail-gate safety meeting prior to starting and that everyone wear a safety-vest while working along the roadway. It is also highly recommended that everyone wear safety glasses, gloves, and durable boots at this site. Per DOT rules, no children under 11 years old or dogs are allowed to participate in the cleanup.
