I drive home this way every day, and there are no caches from Robertsdale all the way to the Florida border. I have to say it is a long sad ride.
I've passed this monument for 3 weeks before I decided to stop. I learned a bit from it.
Alabama became a State on December 14th, 1819, It is the 22nd State of the Union.
This Monument is 72 years old this year as it was placed in 1942.
The govenor was Rank M. Dixon when this was out in place.
Bonus points to everyone who mentions the Director of the State Highway Department in 1942.
