ABOUT GRANT PARK GOLF COURSE
Grant Park Golf Course is a popular and playable public golf course. It has the distinction of being Milwaukee County's first course, having opened in 1920. This 18-hole course along South Milwaukee’s lakefront features 5,213 yards of golf. Although this is a relatively short course – no par 5 holes – it does have many very challenging par 4 and par 3 holes. The course features two sets of tees for different skill levels.
Golf clubs, bags, pull carts, and motorized golf cars are available for rental, and food and drinks are available for purchase.
The Grant Park Golf Clubhouse was built in the early 1860s as the farm home of the Horace Nathan Fowle family. A popular fish fry is served there on Friday nights.
ABOUT GRANT PARK
Grant Park, established in 1911, is a gem in the Milwaukee County Parks system, featuring not only an 18-hole golf course, but also soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, the paved Oak Leaf bike trail, reservable picnic areas, nature trails, a swimming beach (no lifeguards), and no less than 10 geocaches. One of the best features of this 379-acre park is the Seven Bridges nature trail - a system of bridges that go over the Oak Creek and leads to Lake Michigan. During the winter cross country skiers enjoy making their way through the golf course, and Grant Park Beach is a great place to go on a hot summer afternoon. Many of the trails offer spectacular views of the cliffs and Lake Michigan.
