Geocache Description:

Vesey Park is part of Griffeen Valley Park  forms which stretches along the Griffeen River from Lucan to the Grand Canal at Clondalkin. The Park consists of 8 acres of naturalistic and landscaped parkland. At the northern entrance to the park a green building was constructed in 2005. As well as storing maintenance equipment the building was designed to have a minimal impact on the environment and to support local wildlife. The panels on the outside known as 'Insect Hotels' will encourage insects such as ladybirds to colonise them. There are also nesting boxes and bat boxes in building. This part of the park contains mature mixed deciduous and coniferous woodland which has been retained since the formation of the park.  Along with the Griffeen River running through this area this gives a strong naturalistic feeling to the park. The southern end of the park is known locally as The Furry Glen and was once a very popular play area for children in Lucan. This area has now been developed as an integrated constructed wetland. As well retaining and cleansing water from the N4 this area will become increasingly important for wildlife in the area.
In order not to disturb the residents of the hotel (insects, birds or maybe bats) this cache is located in an adjacent spot with a view of the hotel. This cache is a small narrow screw top container, BYOP.
