Why: Clean up Possum Creek Park!
Trash bags and some gloves will be provided. If you have a trash grabber and your own gloves, please feel free to bring therm. The event will be relatively no frills (ie, we're there to work and have a good time) but I will bring some donuts and water. There are places to get coffee and food nearby. The nature operations manager from the city of Gainesville has told me that there are lots of mosquitos and some mud on the way to the area to be cleaned, so please plan accordingly. As with every nature area in Florida, there are plenty of opportunities to find ticks, snakes, poisonous plants and thorns, so be aware of your surroundings.
We will meet at 9:00 at the event coordinates, have some donuts and if you happen to get there a little bit late, the event coordinates are near the parking lot for the park. Please feel free to follow the added waypoints to join the group. I have also added a waypoint for where trash needs to be left after we clean up. There are plenty of spots in the park that need clean up in addition to the trail posted as waypoints, so any place in the park is fair game!
