The cache is located at a very old Ti Kouka which stands alone on a hilltop and is visible from the entrance to the farm.
Ti Kouka are also known as "cabbage trees" because the crown of the plant was eaten by early settlers. However they are not trees at all but are in fact the tallest lily in the world.
There are a few ways to reach the Ti Kouka but by far the easiest is to take the Cairn View track. Follow the blue markers up the hill but instead of turning west to the Cairn continue south up the hill and slightly to the east where you will soon pick up an unmarked but wide and clearly defined track. This will lead you on a circuitous route around a valley and up to the cache. We have found that the return trip from the carpark takes about 1 hour.
The cache is a nice big 1.2 litre sistema which when placed contained a logbook, a pen, and a large trackable item.
