Mysteries are my favourite type of cache. I love solving them and sometimes I'll even go out and find them. Some of them are hard, some easy, but we all need help from time to time. That's what this event is about. The idea is to put our heads together as a big group or a series of smaller groups and work on those nagging puzzles that have got us stumped.
You don't have to bring anything to the event, but the cafe has got wifi so you can bring laptops / tablets / phones and see the puzzles. The event is free; there is an opportunity but no obligation to buy coffee / hot chocolate / cakey treats. You can come to this event whether or not you feel able to contribute to solving. If you are intimidated by mysteries, this may be a way to get an insight into how this niche works and why some people love them.
There is a limit to the number of people who can be there at one time so look out for announcements if we start to get close to about 30 attendees. If you post a "will attend" log, please make it clear if there is more than one of you coming! I doubt we'll have a problem with too many attendees, but you never know..
The meeting room is upstairs and then upstairs again. The door is on the left and is marked as the bathroom: but in reality it's a corridor to the bathrooms and the meeting room. It isn't my intention to hold an event in a toilet: if that's your bag, set up your own event

The cafe closes at 19.30, but if things are still going by that point we can think about adjourning to bar or suchlike. We'll play it by ear.
Lastly, if a cache owner asks you not to give away their solutions, please respect this. I am quite relaxed about people swapping the solutions to my puzzles, or people working together on them. I will help on my puzzles if you ask me. Some cache owners don't like people giving each other solutions, so if you hear from a cache owner that this is not allowed, don't swap their solutions at this event. We don't want mysteries being archived because of upset cache owners! The idea is to learn techniques and see different approaches rather than just to swap answers, but I won't be policing what you do. That is up to you!
