Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in memory of Kelley Lee Murphy who passed 25 Feb 2013, from Pancreatic cancer.  He was the father of Justin Murphy, a fellow geocacher who goes by Tidefan80.  Since that time, Justin has been running in many events and has been training for a marathon.

On October 12th, 2014, Justin ran in a marathon, a course which passed by this cache around the 23rd mile marker.  Congratulations my Friend, we are proud of you!!!

Along with the normal cache goodies, I have placed several Bracelets, along with several others that my daughters made for the cache.

I would like for people to be able to exchange a Bracelet if you choose.  I am not aware of another cache similar to this, so hopefully, this will give fellow cachers a place to pass on something special.

There is also a small notebook for the log, if you would like to write something special.  The cache is along the river, down the bank from the walking path, not easy but also not difficult to reach.

The background Picture features from left to right, Justin's Father In Law, Justin, his dad Kelley, and local caching legend, Barondriver. I have also added some pictures of Justin during the marathon, and him finding the cache.

From Justin concerning the picture: That is from my first cache, I never logged it because I wouldn't have an account for a couple of years and the cache was muggled before I could get it logged. It was my dad’s first cache as well. http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC2F0C_walk-in-the-park Katie’s dad (Bill) flew me down to Alabama right after Katie and I got married to pick up a car that was given to us by my aunt as a wedding present. Kent was my father in law’s pilot instructor. Bill needed some certification so Kent came along. Kent had told us about this game on the trip down and mentioned that he wanted to mark the state of Alabama off of his list. I would imagine that Kent didn't have very many finds at the time. My dad picked us up at the airport and Kent told him about the game. Dad was up to it so we went. We found out on the trip that it was in a park that my dad knew very well. It was a park that Cypress Creek ran through. Now Cypress Creek is deeper and wider than the Ark River here in Wichita. Dad used to ride his bike down with his friends and float the creek while fishing for a mile or so, then they would walk back to the park to get their bikes. Dad had a ton of stories about that park. I enjoyed hearing them, because I had never been there with my dad before and I hadn't heard those stories. I thought it was a pretty special day before my dad got sick. I think that we found 2 or 3 of the 6 geocaches hidden in the city at the time.
