Geocache Description:

Lake Minnewashta Regional Park, located on highway 41 about a half mile south of highway 7, is part of the Carver County regional park system. A vehicle pass is required, but it's valid at any of the parks within the system. The rate for 2003 is $18.00 annually or $4.00 per day (I think).

This is a relatively big park with a swimming beach, two boat launches, multiple picnic locations (some are spectacular!), a soccer field, and for those who like to seek geocaches while the spouse watches the kids, there's a great play area with slides, swings, etc. Coordinates for the play area are N 44 52.969 / W 93 35.394, but it won't be hard to find.

The coordinates of the clue container, a clear film canister, are N 44 52.992 and W 93 35.594. If you have divine power, or if conditions are just right the clue and the cache are pretty close together. If you're a mere mortal and travel by the most direct route, the hike will be about 1/2 mile from clue to cache.

***** Bonus: I've added a bonus multi-cache and moved the travel bug to the new location. Look under the cover of the cache for the coordinates of another clue container. The clue container will help you to find the bonus cache which is a blue Igloo beverage cooler.

The cache is in a clear Rubbermaid container and originally contained:

    *Light-up superball
    *Compaq yo-yo
    *Rapala fish key chain
    *Reptile puzzle
*Ceramic mini cereal box (complete with spoon)
    *Plastic die
    *Home-made fish keychain
    *Chipper Jones mini bobblehead
*NASCAR stickers (#3 will always be the champion!)
    *Package of mini gel pens
*Scorpion encased in lucite (yes, it's dead)
    *Mini truck
While on the trail at N44 52.969 and W93 35.394, see if you can spot something odd. It's about 30 yards off the trail. You'll know it when you see it. It's very out of place in the park!
