Geocache Description:

~This WAS a black bison nestled in a tree perhaps 20 spaces from my friend's gravesite. Now nestled with permission in the flower spot at below/left position of pictured gravestone etc. (Please honor this place and be on your best geocacher behavior, walk slowly, be quiet and above all, don't distract the visitors from their contemplation.) ~Hours of operation are from Sunrise to sunset!

This cache honors my very first teaching associate, Harry Sain who taught his whole 37 year career at Columbia School,in El Monte in a little basement while doing all the printing for the District! I started my teaching career there in 1984 and he was a great companion and source of inspiration! I only worked with him 2 years, when he retired...Fast-forward 23 years, and I'm in the hospital undergoing chemo/radiation therapy for 3rd stage cancer, and who should I see across the hall? Yep, my old friend, Harry. Cancer and Lou Gehrig's Disease had found him and he was buried 5 days later. It's been 5 years since I attended his funeral, but I've never forgotten this kind and gentle man, so dedicated to honorable work, investing in children and supporting his family. Coincidentally, Harry and his family used to retreat a mountain cabin they owned called "The Sain Asylum", he told me several colorful stories of visits there.* Note: This is also an Adventure Lab Location for the Rose Hills Memorial Cemetery Tour/East from Witzie-Woo.
