A magnetic micro cache suitable for a park 'n' grab, or on a walk through Raikes Clough.
This is one of three caches placed along a network of wooded paths that lead from the Haulgh, through Raikes Clough, close to the path of St. Peter's Way and the River Croal, emerging at Smith's Road. It is a generally pleasant route, used primarily by dog walkers and mountain bikers, but it also attracts fly-tippers, probably because of its proximity to the Municipal waste plant. It is quickly accessible on foot from Bolton town centre, so is ideal for a spot of lunch break caching, though many people don't even know the path is there. It is a good access route from town to Leverhulme Park and Moses Gate Country Park. The area is a haven for wildlife, particularly birds, and I frequently see herons, dippers and jays while strolling through. In particular, herons and dippers can often be seen from this spot.
This is a magnetic cache on Raikes Lane.
Placed with the kind permission of Bolton Rights of Way (BMBC).
Congratulations to cliveawalsh for FTF.
