IaSQ Oakland Cemetery: Gifts from the Dead II Traditional Geocache

A micro cache hidden in a little known part of a nationally famous cemetery near those who in death have served the living.

This IaSQ (Iowa Spirit Quest) is tribute to memory of those who in death continued to serve the living. You will be looking for a micro-sized cache container with just enough room for a log sheet. So, bring your own ghost writer along to sign in. This a little known part of a cemetery famous for among others, 'The Black Angel' monument and the resting place of 'Iowa's War Governor' Samuel J. Kirkwood. Here is to be found the memorials those who gave their earthly remains to further medical research in the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine's Deeded Body Program. This area is a continued expansion of a memorial site located near the northwestern corner of Oakland Cemetery. Please be respectful while searching for the cache and be sure to show your appreciation to those remembered here. Only hunt for this hide during Cemetery Hours: 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily.
