Geocache Description:

Cache is situated in Rowan Fields. It is a camouflaged small clip lock container with room for small TB's and swaps. Contains Log, pencil and small swaps. Thanks to Guildford Borough Council for giving me permission to place this cache. All the times I have visited here I have only seen moorhens on the pond hence the cache name.

Rowan Field is a 7 hectare park that was landscaped by Guildford Borough Council in 1996.

This site was split into two by the construction of the Blackwater Valley road. The western section comprise two riverside fields still with remnants of the ancient meadow flora including:

  • Knapweed
  • Meadow Barley
  • Marsh Birdsfoot Trefoil

To the east of the new road is a newly restored and landscaped former gravel pit. The mineral from this pit was used to build the road. The site has many newly planted trees, open grassland areas and a small pond.
