Geocache Description:

On April 20, 1923, James Thomas Scott was lynched by a mob from this bridge. It was the last known lynching in the Columbia area.

This cache will bring you to a location that shows Columbia's early history when dealing with post Civil War feelings and acceptance. When facing the cache you will have the bridge to to your front right side. Light bushwacking and hill climbing required. Imagine, if you can, the landscaped sides and neatly groomed paths were gone and replaced with rock and a wooden old bridge. This cache is BYOP and no room for trinkets. High muggle area so be stealthy. Please return cache the way it was found.
