Geocache Description:

A 2 STAGE MULTI AT MITCHELL PARK.

With urban legends not all of 'em are real. Especially with movie references like this one. Turn left at yellow sign

The curious case of Nigel d’Aubigny goes something like this. So, one day I, superchucklez, stumbled upon this person “Nigel d’Aubigny,” so of course I, put my investigator’s hat on (and not my Ponce de Leon hat) and went to work for the tabloids to discover this guy. It had me up all hours of the night with fascination, intrigue, captivation, and etc, and etc. But what kept me goin is that this guy apparently was from England from way back in the day of Viking days. So you may be wondering “Well, that’s dandy and all, but what’s that have to do with the fifa world cup of 2010?” I’m happy to tell ya, it doesn’t have one thing to do with it.

But this is where my investigations began at Mitchell park with some clues that does make me believe that something rotten is in demark (even tho we’re here in the US). So apparently this guy that you see painted on the building holding the bat at the parking area, is Nigel d’Aubigny’s great, great, great, great, grandson of this mysterious dude. So he told me a location I could get some info, and it doesn’t include a great dane, and 4 meddling kids with a detective machine.

Mineral point Dam - There have been many sightings of Nigel d'Aubigny behind the dam where the graveyard is. Supposedly, it has been said he was hung and shot in this deep, wooded area. Always makes your hair stand on end when you're around. Also, American Indian spirits are seen in areas adjacent to the dam. Rumor has it that prior to building of the dam there was an Indian Burial Mound, similar to others in that vicinity.

During the fall and winter, its good practice to wear orange entering the woods.

So, I’m gonna need you guys’ help to figure this tabloid mystery with me. This is a 2 stage multi, that’ll start off in the main recreational area of the park. Then it’ll take you in the woods...

The cords from stage one into your device to start your Mitchell park adventure. To find this cache enter the woods near the basketball courts. Just follow the logging trail. You may need to go. Around some downed trees and some small mud puddles, but the path is very visible in these areas, stick to the trail and TRUST YOUR GPS and you will prevail!!.(here is a hint-if you cross a small natural stream, your going the wrong way) There is no need to bushwack or leave the trail except for the last 100 feet for each stage. The trail ends approximatly 100 feet away from the last stage, this is the hardest part.

From the cache hiding area you will have a fantastic photograph opportunity of the view down below. In the fall, when the leaves are changing colors the view is just amazing. Once the leaves have all fallen, the Mineral Point Dam which owned by Johnstown’s water authority. It can also be seen down below to the right.
