Welcome to Hell - Wang Saen Suk Monastery
Usually you would think that with reincarnation there wouldn't be a concept of hell in Buddhism. Therefor it was quite surprising to find pictures in the internet of just that: hell in Thailand!
The Buddhist hell is called Naraka and is not forever, though the average stay seems like eternity. One must stay there until all negative karma is spent. It seems to be a painful and slow process.
Naraka is devided in many different parts, depending on the kind of torture the poor sinner soul is condemned to.
The Wang Saen Suk Monastery has a garden which exhibits many scenes that depict the afterlife in less than happy circumstances: here are people boiled alive, bludgeoned, eaten by dogs and tortured in various ways.
It is a bit hidden and tricky to find, therefor I have added a waypoint which will lead you to the correct entrance way. Just follow it and then go for the cache.
This is an easy find, just enjoy the templegrounds and be inspired by hell to lead a better life :-)
The cache can be found between 9 am - 18 pm.
