Geocache Description:

A cache hidden near the island airport that requires solving a puzzle to locate. The posted coordinates are for the terminal building. The cache is not hidden here but you need to go there to solve the puzzle.

The Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport was opened on 30 June 1981 by New Zealand Prime Minister Sir Robert Muldoon. The airport has regular flights most days of the week, with flights to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch on different days. It provides a important link to the mainland and an air freight service as well for Chatham Island produce. The terminal is only open when flights depart (normally 9.30-10.30am) or when the plane arrives back later in the afternoon. Inside the terminal is a plaque on the wall commemorating a very special bird. Find the plaque to solve this puzzle.

The cache can be found at S43 49.ABC   W176 28.EFG by the following:

A = 4th number in the 1st date on the plaque

B = 4th number on the 4th date on the plaque

C = 3rd number on the 6th date on the plaque

E = number of letters in the second colour mentioned on the plaque

F = number of letters found in either of the scientific names of the bird

G = number of letters in the middle name of the person who rediscovered the bird.

You don't have to go anywhere near the aircraft, runway or cross any fences to find the cache.

The cache is 1 litre sistema container with logbook, pen and few tradeables inside a ziplock plastic bag.
