This cache was placed in relation to the history of the destroyed Indian village of Kendaia during the Sullivan-Clinton Revolutionary War Campaign in the summer of 1779. The American Continental Army ravaged the area's many Indian villages in retaliation for the massacres inflicted by Chief Brant's Volunteers and Butler's Rangers (both allies of the British). Crown of Serpents refers to an ancient Iroquois Indian artifact and mystery thriller novel of the same name. The lost village and sacred burial ground was located on the old Sampson Naval Base, now State Park property. The coordinates are a bit off. When I first placed it I took coordinates off an iPhone. Nonetheless, people have found the cache easily enough based on the Hint. If someone would like to message me with the correct coordinates, I'll update the listing.
