When I first started geocaching this summer I was excited to discover that there was a cache within several hundred meters of my home. I happened to meet the cache owner later in the summer at an event cache and learned that he had pulled and archived the cache. Being that close to my home, I wasn't willing to let a good location go to waste, so here is a cache that didn't really work.
The first criteria for the cache was a mandate from Wereguppy1: it had to have a toy swap. I then tried to combine a container large enough for plenty of swag with some ideas I had from other sources. After some help/interference from my dad (I was thinking a cache of yay size, he was thinking of a cache YAY size) I had to scrap the idea and this is the end result. My convoluted ideas combined with heavy influences from my daugther and dad yields..this thing. Yeah, it's that messed up.
The container is slightly smaller than an ammo can, and has plenty of room for toys, TBs, and other various objects. The original contents include several Hot Wheel cars not in original packaging. I'll restock this cache as time and budget allow. The cache is placed with permission on the forested corner of the National Guard property. The shoulder of the road is plenty wide enough to allow for parking. If winter caching, parking in the apartment's parking lot across the street is acceptable.
Have fun and happy caching!
