The Donegal Way is made up of four circular walking trails each between 50-70km in length. The total length of the combined Donegal Way is approx. 280km. This is walking country – small villages, green roads and a stunning variety of scenery. Set up in 2000 as a set of long distance routes covering most of North-west Donegal. You will see the wonderful indented coastlines, blanket bogland, and innumerable streams, rivers and lakes, glens and moors. It eventually links into the Ulster Way. The caches are located on part of the route between Glencolumbkille to Ardara following a series of sign posts in the mountains on each side.
The cache is a small container containing a logbook. Parking is available at either end of the valley (see donegal way 1) requiring a walk of several kilometres. At the Ardara end the route takes you on the back road into the town and has spectacular views worth seeing.
