Geocache Description:

Fess Parker was The Man!  Davy....Davy Crockett.....

Sadly the last cache here was muggled repeatedly.  The fate of too many ammo cans.  Let's try something different.

Here stood the Crockett Tavern, established and operated by John and Rebecca Crockett, parents of David Crockett (1786-1836).  It was the boyhood home of this pioneer and political leader of Tennessee who was later a victim of the Alamo Massacre at San Antonio, Texas.

The sign itself is at 36° 13.294, w 083° 16.051.  You're starting too see how nice these signs were when new.

Cache placed with permission from management.  Cannot recommend the tour enough.  Cheap and eye opening.
