The cache is along the route of the first stage of The Three Lochs Way which starts at the Balloch Visitor Information Centre and takes you via Ben Bowie and Goukhill Muir Viewpoint to Craigendoran and Helensburgh.
There are ove 20 geocaches hidden between Balloch and Helensburgh, so why not make this a great day out? It is suitable for all the family. There are great train connections at Balloch and Helensburgh / Craigendoran. I can highly recommend the booklet “The Three Lochs Way” which is available at various Visitors’ Centres and from accommodation providers. It has detailed and helpful information about distances, waypoints and coordinates as well as background information on the various points of interest. Stage 1 is 14.5km/9miles long and takes about 4hours.
Parking: Please use the parking at Loch Lomond Shores. It is only a stone's throw from Old Luss Road. PLEASE DO NOT park in Lower Stoneymollan Road. It is narrow and only used by local residents. It also forms part of "The Three Lochs Way" route as well as the newly established "John Muir Way" and therefore has plenty of pedestrians/hikers.
