There is a two track road up to the cache location. You will need 4X4 if you plan to drive all the way to the top. It gets a little steep and slick but it is passable. There is a small turn around on top.
We were fortunate enough to draw four cow elk tags in Unit 7W this year. It was the first year that my two of my children were able to go hunting. We spent the majority of opeing day not seeing any elk. We went up this road in the late afternoon, 5pm, and stopped to take a look on top. We jumped a herd of elk and my wife and both children tagged out. This is were it got interesting. We had three downed elk 300-400 ft down the side of the heavy treed hill. We worked late into the night to come a long the elk to the top of the hill. Luckily I have a small trailer that we were able to get to the top. We then ferried the elk one at a time to a larger trailer at the beginning of the road. This whole process took us till 3am. I placed the cache on the opposite side of the hill.
