POL: W Pierzchnicy można znaleźć wzgórze, całe pokryte ziemnymi piwnicami. Najstarsze powstały ponad 200 lat temu, gdy Pierzchnica była jeszcze miastem. Pierzchnica podupadła po Powstaniu Styczniowym (1863r.) i straciła prawa miejskie. Piwnice zostały zbudowane z kamienia. Mają kolebkowe sklepienia i po około 4 m długości i 3 m szerokości. Są wpisane do rejestru zabytków jako obiekt z II połowy XIX wieku. Dlaczego dawni mieszczanie budowali piwnice poza miastem? Po prostu leżało ono na podmokłym i piaszczystym terenie, co uniemożliwiało podpiwniczenie domów. Piwnice budowali więc na gruncie wspólnym na wzgórzu nad rzeczką. Dawne piwnice służyły głównie do przechowywania ziemniaków, a także pozostałych warzyw i owoców.
