The waterfall track at Dry Creek is a great little adventure walk. In all the times we have done it we have only seen one other group of people. Maybe multiple stream crossings puts them off? But we think it's a great place to enjoy the beauty of New Zealand's native bush. The cache is placed before the first stream crossing where your feet may get wet, but we recommend continuing to the waterfall after finding the cache.
This cache was made by my Dad after I started researching different creative caches on the Internet and wanted to start making them.
The cache is hidden approx a 10 min walk from the car park. Park at Dry Creek entrance to Belmont Regional park and walk up the main track. When you reach the clearing by the toilets and the end of the flying fox, head up the waterfall track. The cache is placed just off the track after the little hill and is accessible without harming the bush, and is suitable for children. If you get to the first stream crossing where you will get wet feet, turn back you have gone to far.
