This Sports & Recreation Centre is named after Graham Condon whose paraplegia was a result from childhood polio. He represented New Zealand at six Paralympics between 1968 and 1988, winning medals and setting both national and international records in several events.
Condon was elected as a councillor in 1995 and was standing for re-election for the Shirley-Papanui ward at the time of his death, when hit by a car while riding his hand-propelled bicycle.
Condon was awarded a Queen's Service Medal for community service in 1982.
At entrance to the Centre is an artwork tribute to Graham Condon. There are 3 plaques, one at the front and 2 on the side. From the front plaque,

b = number of letters in third line
c = number of letters in fourth line
Cache is at S 43 29.ABC E 172 36.DEF
where

C = b
D = c + 1
E = A
F = b + c
Check that the digital root of ABCDEF is 5 .
