Geocache Description:

Grew up in the Wauconda/Island Lake area past 50 years?  Then you are sure to remember Wauconda Apple Orchard on Gossell Road..

Townies will recall the Wauconda Apple Orchard..I worked there for awhile, fun place to be. 2 words: Cider Donuts! Owned and operated by the Breeden family for a long long time, the daughter even had the Cheese Factory on the corner of Fairfield and Bonner. Old Rick's cider was named for his son. Tore it down and sold the land for housing developement around Lake Napa Suwe, bike trails interwine through and you can even see some of the old apple trees along the paths.

I once asked the owner what Native American Indian tribe had named the lake there and he smiled and said it was him. Napa Suwe is named after his daughters; Nancy,Patty,Sue and Wendy...and there you have it.

Congratulations to Fromms on first ever FTF! Glad it was one of mine!! Hope many more to come for you!
