To solve the puzzle you need to identify seven sitcoms broadcast on UK TV. Six of them (A to F) are constructed round a married couple and one was first broadcast in each decade starting from 1950. The seventh (G) is my all-time favourite.
When you have identified them the value for the following calculation is the alphabetical value (eg A=1, Z=26) of the first letter of the name.
