You'll find this cache not far from what the kids dub "Turtle Rock" on one of the forest trails at Jericho Park. You'll know the rock as soon as you see it. The cache is named for a tyrannical turtle in a lesser known Dr. Seuss story that is one of our favorites. It is about a greedy Turtle King who decides to stack all his subjects to make himself a higher throne. A plain small turtle at the bottom of the stack (called Mack) is his downfall. The cache isn't hidden on the rock but quite nearby - you can continue on the main trail or take the new little path north of turtle rock.
I’m Yertle the Turtle! Oh, marvelous me!
For I am the ruler of all that I see!
Theodor Seuss Geisel 1904-1991 aka Dr. Seuss
You can check out some real live pond turtles nearby in Jericho Pond, if you like. But don't try to stack them as Yertle did.. it will only lead to disaster.
