THE GEOCACHE is a family friendly, six inch (15cm) cube lock&lock container, in a camo bag, covered with additional natural camo, hidden at the base of a lonely tree, just off the north side of a rarely used track, in a wildlife conservation area, so please keep within the well edged corridor. There are swaps, a paper log and pencils, and plenty of room for Travel Bugs. Wellies are recommended in wet weather. The geocache is deployed with the kind permission of the Countryside Service of Eastleigh Borough Council.
THE VENUE for the IVCP series is a family friendly closed loop around Itchen Valley Country Park, which has a visitor's centre with cafe, a number of picnic sites with seats and tables, childrens play areas, and nature trails with seats and amusements for kids. Most areas are buggie friendly, wellies will be needed in wet weather. The paths are a mixture of hard gravel, cut and uncut grass, woodland, and open grass. Most areas are level, but there is a gentle hill with good views in the eastmost field.
