South Cape Beach is a mile and a quarter long six part multi that generally follows the Great Flat Pond Loop Trail in SCB State Park on the south shore of Cape Cod. The area is part of the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve which is jointly managed by NOAA and Mass DCR. Listed coords are for stage one.
South Cape Beach will take you on a tour of the eastern section of the park: along the way you will cross tidal flats, boardwalks, small bridges, a couple of park roads and two observation platforms with panoramic views of the area. All the stages are within a few feet of the trail and the unique markers are designed to blend in without effecting the environment. You should be able to find them all from the trail. Individually they are pretty much d1.5 but there are six of them, hence the rating. Reading everything on the cache page is often helpful... Please recover the cache as found. Placed with the permission of dcr. Be sure to check out other trails in the area, and of course, the beach. Note that hunting is allowed in the Reserve so wear orange in season. No hunting on Sundays. Dogs allowed Oct 1 to March 31st.
