One winter, before they even had trails, we decided to do some exploring here. After walking around, we couldn’t figure out where we were. Well, turn on the GPSr! To our concern, we discovered that we had lost it. We wandered around, sure that we would find our way out. As the darkness and cold settled in, we knew we would have to spend the night. As the temperature went down to 0 degrees, we sunk into a numb, almost unconscious state. That’s the last thing we remember, except for a vague picture of a huge dark form. To our surprise, we awoke in our car, covered with a blanket we had in the trunk. We couldn’t understand what had happened, but the trunk was open and the lock on one door was busted. Before it began snowing again, we saw huge footprints all around the car. Whatever it was, it had saved our lives!
We decided to put a cache here, as times have changed and more people are now enjoying the trails of this beautiful area.  Still.....it is a remote area of the peninsula, so just maybe you might get a glimpse of Bigfoot! Â
