Welcome to one of the Hunters newest suburbs. Originally this area was one of the Steggles chicken farms. Earlier in life i would visit a friend on one of the many farms located on this land and help with odd jobs. Today the sheds have been replaced with houses and the dirt roads with curbing and guttering. The Steggles farms were located all over the Maitland area with this particualr location having 6 or 7 farms and twice as many chicken sheds, all of which supplied the processing plant in Beresfield which in turn supplied the millions of chickens we like to consume every month.
While GZ is not located at the original entrance to the farms you can still see it beyond the new and impressive entry to the suburb. I place this nano in memory of all those chickens that have passed through those gates and onto our tables. Please replace the cache in the same location so as the next cacher can have the same experience as you had. Be mindful of the location and be respectful of the vegetation.
