Here in America, some people like to abbreviate the date of the Thirteenth of December 2014 as 12/13/14. If we ascribe to this standard, the Next time the numbers will line up sequentially will be on January 2nd of 2034 (1/2/34). I'm sure SOME of us will still be geocaching on that date. As for me, I hope to be in good enough heath to be caching many many years from now.
"An Electric City Cache-mas" is an event cache to recognize the sequential date: 12/13/14. This event will "officially" began at 3:16pm (12/13/14/15:16) to 6:00pm. So that you can LOG your visit as: "12/13/14 - 15:16". If you the sign the log prior to that time, you can earn bragging rights when visiting with geocachers from other locales. All signed logs are eligible for the FTF drawing.
As luck would have it, this date is also exactly 12 days before Christmas.
Even though the local eatery does not officially open until 4:00, I have gotten permission from the manager to let us in at 3:00. This will enable us to log our event at the correct time and give us a chance to swap our different caching adventures, TBs and such. At 4:00 food and drink will be available for those that are interested. There will be a prize awarded to the Oldest, and Youngest, registered geocachers, as well as a prize for the person who traveled furthest from their Geo-Home coordinates. The FTF drawing will be at 3:55.
