Out on a Limb! Traditional Cache

Cache is a cleverly camouflaged micro located in a public nature sanctuary. Bring your imagination and a pen to sign the log.

Cache is located on one of five trails in the 50-acre wooded Audubon-Newhall Preserve on Palmetto Bay Road on the south end of Hilton Head Island. The Preserve supports varying ecosystems such as a pond with alligators, turtles and ducks; a butterfly garden; pocosin; and a pine savannah. Over a hundred rescued native wildflowers and herbs are identified by labels, and over 100 bird species have been spotted here such as Piliated Woodpeckers, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers and Barred Owls. Please use the observation deck for viewing pond wildlife, especially with small children. Preserve and tours are free, but donations are welcome. /p>
