Geocache Description:

For safety's sake, park in the nearby parking lot and walk to this cache. Enjoy the view!

Benjamin Franklin Smyth, son of John Brown Smyth built the Smyth House with the help of his father and three brothers in the early 1840’s. The architect, builder engineer was their uncle Samuel Washington Smith “Uncle Wash”. Traveling from the Carolinas to Alabama, they eventually settled in Louisville, Mississippi. As the family grew, so did the home which expanded into several rooms, including a parlor porch and two shed rooms, but no room was left was for a center hall, so there remained two front doors.   The home is currently occupied by the 5th generation of John Brown Smyth’s descendants.

SHHHH! Remember that the Smyth home is a private residence, so be considerate as you view it from the road.

Once you find the cache, you'll want to check out a large tree near the road and the driveway to the Smyth house.
