As I was hiding this cache, I looked out over Shady Oak Lake and thought to myself, "Man, when I was a kid, that high dive seemed so much higher." I remember the dock being taller too. My mom would buy us a summer pass and my brother and friends and I would go swimming many times a week.
My first swimming lessons were here too. I remember a specific lesson when the temperature had to be in the fifties. My grandma came all the way from Anoka to watch. We had chicken nuggets at a nearby picnic table.
