The R5 spent a Saturday afternoon at the Houston Foodbank prepping Thanksgiving boxes with the girlscouts. R1 already was scoping out the location before the work, to see where a cache could be placed. Surprisingly few caches on this side of town, not terribly noteworthy area but easy access from I-10. The foodbank itself is a very nice building, really set up for attracting and maintaining volunteers to help out. There is even a cafe in the building. The work was actually fairly difficult, filling up over 1100 boxes of food in 2 hours. The R5 enjoyed it and hopefully the folks receiving 2 proteins, 1 cranberry sause, 1 pasta, 1 pasta sauce, 1 snack, 2 cans juice will too.
