This cache is placed on the former site of the now defunct Ireland colliery , and close to what is now known as Jacks pond .
It is placed within approx 500ft of the main pit head , i know this as whilst i was placing it an old guy walked past . I asked if it was the old pit site , to which he replied " yep , i was a t'owd miner at that pit lad , an history gone to ground " , im sure i saw a tear in his eye as he trudged off .
I have looked for some old history to include here , but as of yet , i have,nt found any . I will include some when i do .
The cache itself contains only a logbook , so please BYOP .
The cache is also suitable for all to find , altho the approach terrain can and does become a bit sludgey in wetter seasons .
There are always plenty of muggles around here most of the time , including horses , there was some about when i placed the cache , also fishing muggles as well as joggles ,doggles and cyclists , so please be aware and take care .
Please take care with retrieval of the cache , and please replace as found to avoid muggle detection .
Parking is available very closeby , but sometimes it can be closed , but alternative parking is available a short walk away .
