janicelouisems: Went to replace this container and the entire configuration of the cemetery is now different, nowhere to hide a similar container without asking for issues...sure wish the caretakers had told me. We had a good run though!

Geocache Description:

Small transparent container in Enon Cemetery, Byesville. Usual cemetery caching rules apply: dawn to dusk only, be respectful, it's not near any tombstones.

After coming across more than one cemetery with the name Enon, I did a quick search online and discovered that Enon --also spelled Aenon-- was a location in Palestine, west of the Jordan River, that is mentioned in the Bible (John 3:23) as a place that John the Baptist baptized. The Greek word was a derivation of the Hebrew word for "spring" or "natural fountain"-- which makes sense because the verse says John baptized here "because there was much water." As such, Enon is a name commonly used for Baptist churches or other affiliated locations.
