There are lots of ways to participate in this 2:30pm-4:30pm shindig--the three main ways are all optional:
Homemade Sweet Swap:
If you're interested in participating bring at least 10 bags of your homemade goodie (cookies, candy etc) and you'll go home with 10 or more different bags of goodies from others. If you'd like to play--make sure to let us know what you're planning to bring in your "will attend" note, below. Please make sure all goodies have arrived approximately 30 feet from the posted coordinates (hint: look for our kitchen table) by 3pm in order to be a part of the swap. Swap will take place at 3:05pm.
White Elephant Gift Exchange:
What can happen when geocachers get together and swap potentional swag? Who knows--but I bet it'll be fun. If you'd like to get in on the action plan to bring a pre-wrapped gift to exchange with another. You can bring anything--though let's keep it family friendly just for good taste. It's up to you how much you want to invest in the game--MyMuggleMother and I are each bringing gifts with $5ish values. Place your gifts under the German Christmas Tree no later than 3:30pm to play. Gift exchange will begin at 3:35pm.
Preview and Pilot Part of a Potential Cache:
Have you ever seen the British TV Show, "The Crystal Maze"? It's pretty cheesy--but quite the inspiration for a puzzle cache. If you're up for it--explore our front yard with printed coordinates to complete parts of the puzzle. We're still working on it, but would love some feedback, and hope you find it fun--they'll be some decent swag scattered about, too--in true Christmas spirit.
TBs, Family, Friends, and Geodogs all welcome--just let us know who is coming and how many we can expect in your log notes. We do have Cache Cats in the house--so if you have allergies to them, let us know and we'll get them wrangled for the night. We're planning to have a fire lit in the pit outside (some seating available, but you might wanna bring a lawn or camp chair with) as well as ample space inside. I'm posting this event as a 1.5/1.5 as we've had people miss our house in the past (granted they've been silly muggles) and there's a bit of a hill from the driveway to the front door--however please let us know if you need accomadations in order to attend and we can make that happen.
Cheers!
