The cache is atop a medium volcano with fine views of the nearby mountains and looking towards Lanzarote.
The nearby development (unoccupied) is private property, occasionally checked by security guards and should be avoided. In saying that many local residents of nearby La Capellania walk their dogs there. But you have been warned.
You can avoid the development ( and find two more Caches) by taking the suggested trailhead, the route avoids the development.The difficulty andterrain ratings are based on this route.
Follow the path by the wall, at the end cross the large sand area when you will come to an area of sand barrancos. Walk down into the barranco and walk towards the cache by staying in the barranco. Alternatively turn right at the barrancos and you will shortly come to a sandy plain free of barrancos. This plain (and in thhe barrancos ) is an excellent source of souvenir goat heads to decorate the garden.
The climb up the south flank of the volcano is seldom steep, there is a covering of rocks but they create few problems.
Alternatively you can travel from the caches on the dunes side of the volcano.
The cache is suitable for older children and a minimum of stoutly soled trainers are recommended. Walking shoes are even better.
As with all walking in Fuerteventura, because of the rocky terrain, ALWAYS look where you place your feet, if you wish to admire the scenery, stop walking and plant your feet securely.
Please ensure that the cache is replaced exactly where found, the lid is secured and the cache is covered by the rocks.
