LE SCALE (o TAGLIATA SCALA)
Ottocentesca opera di sbarramento italiana sul confine per controllare l'importante arteria tra la Valsugana, il Feltrino ed il Primiero. Caratteristica per la lunga galleria coperta (caponiera) che sbarra per un lungo tratto la strada e che la collega alla adiacente tagliata 'Fontanella'.
Non ebbe ruoli durante la guerra e venne sgomberata, e parzialmente fatta saltare, nell'autunno 1917 per l'avanzata austrungarica. La fortificazione consisteva nel confine dell'antica Repubblica Veneta con il regno d'Austria
FORTE DI PRIMOLANO
Il vasto sistema di difesa statica di Primolano, ultimato presumibilmente entro il 1910, era costituito da due forti di sbarramento collegati da un camminamento protetto. La Tagliata Scala sbarrava direttamente il passo che da Primolano conduceva a Fastro e quindi nel feltrino, e indirettamente la rotabile della valle del Brenta. Il forte superiore, la Tagliata Fontanelle, chiudeva la strada del Sorist e batteva la strada Fastro-Arsié fino al bivio per Mellame. La Tagliata Scala era costituita da una casamatta fortificata, con copertura a prova di bomba, affiancata da una postazione per artiglieria all'aperto. Un camminamento coperto, munito di feritoie per il fuoco di fucileria, attraversava il passo e raggiungeva una torre di collegamento sull'altro versante. L'armamento del forte consisteva in una batteria in casamatta, per un totale di sei cannoni 120B, e una batteria all'aperto di quattro cannoni 87A. Dall'inclinazione delle feritoie per i cannoni si ricava come la funzione tattica del forte fosse limitata quasi esclusivamente allo sbarramento diretto della strada Primolano-Fastro. La carreggiata di fondovalle infatti veniva battuta solo per un brevissimo tratto a sud di Primolano, mentre era impossibile, per la batteria principale, indirizzare il tiro sulle cime oltre il Brenta. Per contro, il forte non poteva essere sottoposto a tiro di artiglieria nemica fintanto che non fossero stati conquistati i forti di Lisser e Cima Campo. La Tagliata Fontanelle aveva la funzione tattica di proteggere la Scala da eventuali infiltrazioni provenienti dalla Valle del Cismon attraverso Arsié. Si trattava di un complesso fortificato costituito da una casamatta per l'artiglieria, una caserma e una torre. L'armamento era costituito da quattro cannoni da 120 mm. Il collegamento con la Scala era assicurato da un camminamento coperto che permetteva il trasferimento protetto di truppe da un forte all'altro. Entrambi i forti vennero abbandonati dalla guarnigione italiana attorno al 12 novembre 1917 e vennero occupati il 13 novembre dagli austriaci della 1^ brigata da montagna. Prima di lasciare la Scala, furono fatti brillare i depositi di munizioni, provocando due vistose brecce ancora oggi visibili nella casamatta del forte. A differenza del forte Tombion, le strutture del complesso Scala-Fontanelle sono in gran parte sopravvissute e rimangono a tutt'oggi un elemento irrinunciabile del paesaggio primolanese.

Nineteenth-century Italian opera barrier on the border to control the major artery between Valsugana, Feltre and Primiero. Characteristic for the long covered gallery (caponier) that blocks the road for a long stretch and that connects to the adjacent cut 'Fontanella'.
He had no role during the war and was evacuated, and partially blown up, in autumn 1917 for the Austro-Hungarian advanced. The fort was to the border of the ancient Venetian Republic with the reign of Austria
FORTE DI PRIMOLANO
The extensive system of static defense of Primolano, should be complete by 1910, was constituted by two strong barrier connected by a walkway protected. Tagliata la Scala barred directly from the step that led to Primolano, Fastro and then in Feltre, and indirectly the rolling stock of the valley of the Brenta. The strong top, the Tagliata Fontanelle, closed the road and beat the Sorist Fastro-Arsié the road to the junction for Mellame. The Cut Scale consisted of a fortified bunker, with coverage bombproof, flanked by an artillery position outdoors. A covered walkway, provided with slits for rifle fire, crossed the pass and reached a tower on the other side of the connection. The armament of the fort consisted of a battery in a casemate, for a total of six cannons 120B, and a battery of four guns 87A outdoors. The inclination of the slits for guns is calculated as the tactical function of the fort was limited almost exclusively to the barrier direct road Primolano-Fastro. The track width of the valley in fact was only beaten by a short stretch south of Primolano, while it was impossible, for the main battery, target shooting on the peaks over the Brenta. By contrast, the fort could not be subjected to enemy artillery fire until they were conquered the forts of Lisser and Cima Campo. The Tagliata Fontanelle had the tactical function of protecting the Scala by any infiltration from the Valle del Cismon through Arsié. It was a fortified complex consists of a bunker for the artillery, a barracks and a tower. The armament consisted of four 120mm guns. The connection to the Scala was insured by a covered walkway that allowed the transfer of troops protected by a strong another. Both forts were abandoned by the Italian garrison around November 12, 1917 and November 13 were occupied by the Austrians of the 1st Brigade of the mountain. Before leaving the Scala, were blasted the ammunition depots, causing two glaring gaps still visible today in the casemates of the fort. Unlike the strong Tombion, the structures of the complex scale-Fontanelle are largely survived and still remain an indispensable element of the landscape of Primolano.
