The Twelve Days of Christmas is probably the most misunderstood part of the church year and contrary to much popular belief, these are not the twelve days before Christmas, but are the twelve days from Christmas until the beginning of Epiphany (January 6th; the 12 days count from December 25th until January 5th). The haggi do not understand what maids a milking, partridges in pear trees and gold rings have to do with Christmas and therefor festivly bring you the twelve haggi of Christmas and on the ninth day of Christmas the haggi may like a slice of Christmas cake ( if there's any left )
